Congratulations! Tour of Fermanagh 2015

| admin | ,

A huge congratulations is in order for all who took part in the annual Tour of Fermanagh. The cycling event; now in its 3rd year had a fantastic turnout which appears to be getting bigger and bigger each year. Starting and ending in Linaskea the routes on offer were split into three difficulty levels. So there is certainly something for everyone.

Three Challenges

The first course was a casual 60km through the more scenic view of Fermanagh’s Lakeland’s with little or no hills but still offering a challenge. Being 60km its still nothing to be sniffed at as it was a great achievement for all who took part. The second was a more challenging intermediate course consistently of a cycle route of 100km. This route took on a more rugged path of the Fermanagh countryside with inclines that would test the finest ‘Tour’ cyclist whilst still getting some fantastic panoramic views of the county. The third and final course was for the super competitive who truly liked a challenge. Consisting of 150km this “Sportive” route was certainly demanding with huge hills and of course the almost pilgrimage like climb up to the Carnmore Viewpoint.

Fun & Charity

Which ever route the participants took it was clear they were all there for one reason. To raise money for some fantastic local charities, and of course to have a bit fun! Two of the charities which benefited where the local chapters of Marie Curie Cancer Care and Horizon West Children’s Hospice. Both of which received substantial cheques of £1,700 which is a fantastic reward for all who took part in the Tour of Fermanagh.

A thank you is also in order for the Tour of Fermanagh Organising Committee for making sure everyone had a great time and having such a great event take place in this great county. Here’s to the 2016 Tour of Fermanagh and you never know you might see team SugarProjects taking on the “Sportive” route next year…

…probably best to start with the 60k.
